We've got news!

Great news. My new thriller, The 7th Victim, will be coming out in hardback on September 23, 2008, from Vanguard Press. Vanguard is part of the humongous Perseus Books Group and was named Publisher's Weekly 2007 Publisher of the Year. Vanguard is home to David Morrell, Stephen Cannell, Robert K. Tannenbaum, Kyle Mills, Vincent Bugliosi, and Mayor Michael Bloomberg,  to name a few off the top of my head.  And it's now home to Alan Jacobson!

I've been very impressed with everyone at Vanguard. They're true industry professionals who are interested in turning out quality products. There's a reason they were named Publisher of the Year. 

There's more news to come as we work on the launch of The 7th Victim. You want some clues as to what the story is about? It's about 400 pages. (Okay, bad joke.) I'll be introducing Karen Vail, a character I've lived with for ten years now in my head, someone who's near to my heart and who, one day, burst from my fingertips. I couldn't write her thoughts, her dialogue fast enough. I knew one day I'd write an entire novel around her.

Suffice it to say, for now, that Karen Vail is the first female FBI profiler. I spent 7+ years with the FBI's Behavioral Analysis Unit researching serial killers--as well as the profilers who strive to understand (and help apprehend) them. 

There's much more to this story, including behind the scenes tales at the FBI Academy, but I'll save it for another time--perhaps at one of my signings. (My publicist is assembling my book tour right now.)

I will tell you this: there's more exciting news I'll be releasing very shortly. I guess now is a good time to get that newsletter cranked up and out to all of you! Stay tuned.
